Beetlejuice-themed bar to open in Sydney
Say his name three times, and if you’re in Sydney, you can experience the magic of Tim Burton’s classic Beetlejuice at this speakeasy, writes ANDREA BEATTIE
If you’re in Sydney and you’re in the mood for some secret, dark cocktails (and after lockdown, who isn’t?!) head to this local speakeasy because it’s showtiiiiiiime!
The new Tim Burton, Beetlejuice-themed bar will open at a secret location in November, but you can book your spot now.
This is a must for fans of the Tim Burton movie and anyone looking for a unique and fun distorted reality journey.
After all, the film is one of the best for those who love the strange and unusual.
We all know the story, but in case you don’t…
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Beetlejuice is a cult classic directed by Burton and starring Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton.
The story goes like this: Adam (Baldwin) and Barbara (Davis) are a normal couple … who happen to be dead.
They have given their precious time to decorate their house and make it their own, but unfortunately a family is moving in, and not quietly.
Adam and Barbara try to scare them out, but end up becoming the main attraction to the money making family.
They call upon Beetlejuice (Keaton) to help, but he has more in mind than just helping.
House of Burton a ‘viral’ drawcard
According to Time Out, House of Burton comes from Viral Ventures, the team behind the Wizard’s Den, a witchy and loosely boy wizard-inspired, escape-room-esque cocktail mixing experience; Saloon 24, a wild west style cowboy bar experience; and Tinseltown, an over-the-top Christmas-themed bar.
At House of Burton, punters will be able to get in on the Beetlejuice action with plenty of vintage style décor, themed cocktails and an immersive experience to remember.
Tickets cost $45 and include a welcome drink and two themed cocktails which guests will make themselves with the help of the deceased trickster.
You can book here, with multiple sessions running each night from Wednesday to Sunday.
